Why Was I Born, Why Did Jesus Suffer?

Why Was I Born, Why Did Jesus Suffer?

Have you ever wondered why you were born? What is the purpose of your existence? As Christians, we often turn to the Bible for answers to these profound questions. The Scriptures provide us with insights into our purpose and the reasons behind Jesus’ suffering.

Why Was I Born?

The Bible tells us that each person is created with a unique purpose. In Jeremiah 1:5, God says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” This verse reminds us that God has a plan for each of us, even before we are born.

Psalm 139:13-14 also speaks to our creation: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” We are wonderfully made by God, and our lives have meaning and purpose.

Why Did Jesus Suffer?

Jesus is the perfect example of doing good for others, yet He was rewarded with torture and death on the cross. This is a reflection of the human race, where many people do not care and lack compassion. Jesus’ suffering was not in vain; it was part of God’s divine plan for our salvation.

Isaiah 53:5 prophesies about Jesus’ suffering: “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Jesus suffered to bring us peace and healing.

In John 3:16, we learn about God’s love for us: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus’ suffering and sacrifice were acts of immense love, offering us the gift of eternal life.

Hope for Heaven

As we navigate through life, we may encounter people who lack compassion and understanding. However, we can find solace in the hope of heaven. Revelation 21:4 gives us a glimpse of this promise: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

In heaven, we will be surrounded by good hearts like Jesus, free from the torture and suffering of this world. We can look forward to a place where love, kindness, and compassion reign supreme.
