Update from Pastor Masih Samson – Jehovah Saints Church, Gurdaspur, India

Ministry Work in the Slum Areas

Pastor Masih Samson of Jehovah Saints Church in Gurdaspur, India, reports on the incredible work being done in his area to minister to those in need. In his region, there are approximately 300 slum houses, and he and his team visit 65 houses every week to share the Gospel, pray for families, and provide hope to those living in difficult conditions.

Their ministry efforts include:

  1. Village Church Ministry: Spreading God’s Word and building faith within the community.

  2. Slum Ministry: Visiting slum areas to share the Gospel, pray for families, and provide basic support.

  3. Brick Factory Children Ministry: Serving children who work or live near brick factories, offering them encouragement and care.

  4. Slum Children Ministry: Providing cold drinks and juice to children in the slum areas while sharing the Gospel and praying for them.

  5. Matthew 28:19-20“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

    • Pastor Masih and his team are living out the Great Commission by bringing the Gospel to the least-reached and most vulnerable.

Challenges in the Slum Areas

Pastor Masih reports that the slum areas face severe hardships, including:

  1. No Hand Pumps or Clean Water: Residents must walk 2 kilometers to fetch water, which is a heavy burden on families.

  2. No Lighting System: The lack of electricity adds to the challenges of daily life.

The need for a hand pump in the slum area is urgent. Pastor Masih asks for prayers that God will open doors to provide clean water and ease the burden on these families.

  • Isaiah 41:17 – “The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.”

    • Let us pray that God will provide clean water for these communities through the installation of a hand pump.

  • Proverbs 19:17 – “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.”

    • Supporting this effort is an opportunity to serve God by helping those in need.

Hospital Outreach Ministry

In addition to their work in the slum areas, Pastor Masih and his team also conduct hospital outreach ministry. They visit patients, pray for healing, and share the Gospel of hope and salvation.

  • James 5:14-15“Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.”

    • Through hospital outreach, they bring comfort and faith to those who are suffering, trusting in God’s power to heal and restore.

Prayer Requests

Pastor Masih asks for prayers for the following needs:

  1. Provision of a Hand Pump: To bring clean water to the slum area and reduce the burden on families.

  2. Strength and Resources for Ministry: To continue visiting slum houses, serving children, and sharing the Gospel.

  3. God’s Guidance and Open Doors: For the ministry to grow and reach more people in need.

  4. Hospital Outreach Efforts: That many lives will be touched and transformed through their prayers and the Gospel.

How You Can Help

  1. Pray: Lift up Pastor Masih, his team, and the people they serve in prayer.

    • Philippians 4:6“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

  2. Support Financially: Consider contributing to help install a hand pump and provide resources for the ministry.

  3. Raise Awareness: Share this mission with others who may be able to support or pray for the needs in Gurdaspur.

Encouragement for the Ministry

The work being done by Pastor Masih and his team is a reflection of God’s love and compassion for the poor and needy. By ministering to the slum areas, the brick factory children, and hospital patients, they are bringing light into darkness and hope into despair.

  • Matthew 25:40“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

    • Every act of service, no matter how small, is done unto the Lord and brings glory to His name.

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the work being done by Pastor Masih and Jehovah Saints Church in Gurdaspur. We lift up the slum areas and the people who are struggling without clean water and electricity. Lord, we pray that You will provide a hand pump and open doors for resources to meet their needs. Strengthen Pastor Masih and his team as they continue to share the Gospel and serve the vulnerable. Bless the hospital outreach and touch the lives of those they minister to. May Your name be glorified in all they do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
