Spiritual Currency: Beyond Earthly Treasures

Spiritual Currency: Beyond Earthly Treasures

Have you ever paused to think about the true value of currency? What is gold worth? At its core, gold is just a shiny rock, currency is mere paper, and those digits on a computer? Just numbers, not real money.

Yet, how often do we prioritize these material assets over our spiritual currency? The Bible offers profound guidance on this matter:

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal." - Matthew 6:19-20 (NIV)

We’re here for, at most, around a hundred years. Building up treasures on Earth is fleeting, a short blip compared to the eternity promised in heaven.

"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?" - Matthew 16:26 (NIV)

So, what are we to do? Prioritize good deeds, help those in need, both spiritually and physically. This is the essence of accumulating spiritual currency, which holds eternal value.

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." - Luke 6:38 (NIV)

Doing good for others, helping those in need, and living according to divine principles: these are more crucial than any material wealth. Remember, our time here is transient, but our spiritual impact echoes through eternity.

In our journey through life, we often seek guidance and wisdom beyond our own understanding. St. Mykul’s prayer is a beautiful expression of this desire, a heartfelt plea for divine intervention and alignment with Jehovah’s will. It serves as a reminder of the profound connection we can cultivate with the divine, allowing us to become vessels of His wisdom and love.

St. Mykul’s prayer:

“I pray for Jehovah to speak through me all the time, and I pray for Jehovah to remove all my thoughts, and implant His thoughts all the time, as I do not even want my thoughts.”
