Pastor Jamil Masih of Jehovah Saints Church in Kasur, Pakistan, delivered a powerful sermon on the topic of "The Resurrection of Jesus Christ."

He explained:

"Jesus Christ’s resurrection means He rose from the dead after His crucifixion. This event proves His divine power and victory over death, offering hope for eternal life. Through His resurrection, believers are assured of salvation and the promise of life after death."

To emphasize the significance of the resurrection, Pastor Jamil shared the following key points supported by scripture:

1. The Resurrection Proves Jesus’ Divine Power

Romans 1:4

"And who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord."

The resurrection confirms Jesus as the Son of God, demonstrating His divine authority and power over sin and death.

John 11:25-26

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'"

Jesus proclaimed Himself as the source of life, and His resurrection validated this truth.

2. The Resurrection Offers Victory Over Death

1 Corinthians 15:55-57

"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Through His resurrection, Jesus defeated death and gave believers the ultimate victory.

Revelation 1:18

"I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades."

Jesus’ resurrection signifies His eternal life and authority over death.

3. The Resurrection Assures Salvation and Eternal Life

1 Peter 1:3

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."

Believers have a living hope and assurance of salvation because of Jesus’ resurrection.

John 14:19

"Because I live, you also will live."

Jesus promised eternal life to all who believe in Him, rooted in the fact of His resurrection.

4. The Resurrection Is Central to the Gospel

1 Corinthians 15:17

"And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins."

Pastor Jamil emphasized that the resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith. Without it, there would be no salvation or forgiveness of sins.

Romans 6:9

"For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him."

Jesus’ resurrection is a once-for-all victory, and His eternal life is the assurance of our faith.

5. The Promise of Life After Death

Philippians 3:10-11

"I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead."

Believers are invited to share in Christ’s resurrection and the promise of eternal life.

1 Thessalonians 4:14

"For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him."

The resurrection assures that believers who die in Christ will also be raised to eternal life.

Pastor Jamil concluded his sermon by encouraging the congregation to reflect on the hope and assurance provided by Jesus’ resurrection:

It is a demonstration of God’s power.

It is the foundation of our faith.

It is the source of hope for eternal life.

He urged believers to live in the light of this victory, trusting in the promise of salvation and sharing the good news of the resurrection with others.

This message of hope and victory through Jesus’ resurrection continues to inspire faith and strengthen the assurance of eternal life for all who believe.
