Jehovah Saints Kenya: Key Principles to Receive Your Blessings
Preacher: Pastor Kizito Wafula
Church: Jehovah Saints, Nairobi, Kenya
Blessings are part of God’s promises to His people, but there are principles we must follow to position ourselves to receive them. Pastor Kizito Wafula shared a powerful message on how we can align ourselves with God's will and unlock the blessings He has prepared for us. Today, we will walk through key principles to receive your blessings as taught in Scripture.
1. Faith in God
Faith is the foundation of receiving blessings from God. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him or to trust in His promises. Faith unlocks the doors to the supernatural.
Scripture References:
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." – Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
"Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’" – Mark 9:23 (NKJV)
Faith requires us to believe that God is able to do what He has promised, even when circumstances seem impossible.
2. Obedience to God’s Word
Obedience is a key principle for receiving blessings. God’s blessings are often tied to our willingness to follow His instructions. When we obey, we show our trust in His wisdom and His plan for our lives.
Scripture References:
"If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all His commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God." – Deuteronomy 28:1-2 (NIV)
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." – James 1:22 (NKJV)
Obedience brings alignment with God’s will, which positions us to receive His blessings.
3. Prayer and Seeking God
Prayer is a powerful way to connect with God and seek His blessings. When we pray, we demonstrate our dependence on Him and invite Him to work in our lives.
Scripture References:
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." – Matthew 7:7 (NKJV)
"You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart." – Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)
Persistent and heartfelt prayer moves the hand of God and opens the heavens for His blessings to flow.
4. Giving and Generosity
Giving is a principle that unlocks blessings. When we give cheerfully and sacrificially, we honor God and demonstrate our trust in His provision.
Scripture References:
"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." – Luke 6:38 (NKJV)
"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine." – Proverbs 3:9-10 (NIV)
Generosity reflects God’s heart and opens the door for Him to bless us abundantly.
5. Gratitude and Thanksgiving
A heart of gratitude attracts blessings. When we thank God for what He has already done, we position ourselves to receive even more.
Scripture References:
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)
"Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name." – Psalm 100:4 (NIV)
Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have, and it invites God to continue blessing us.
6. Patience and Perseverance
Sometimes blessings take time to manifest, and we need patience to wait on God’s perfect timing. Perseverance in faith and obedience is crucial during seasons of waiting.
Scripture References:
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." – Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." – Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
God’s timing is perfect, and perseverance ensures we don’t miss out on His blessings.
7. Living a Righteous Life
Righteousness is a key principle for receiving blessings. God honors those who live according to His ways and seek to please Him in all they do.
Scripture References:
"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless." – Psalm 84:11 (NIV)
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." – Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
When we pursue righteousness, we align ourselves with God’s heart and open the door for His blessings.
8. Trusting in God’s Promises
Trust is essential to receiving blessings. Even when circumstances seem uncertain, we must hold on to God’s promises and believe that He will fulfill them.
Scripture References:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." – Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
"Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him." – Jeremiah 17:7 (NIV)
God is faithful, and trusting Him ensures that we remain in His will, where blessings flow.
Pastor Kizito Wafula reminded us that blessings are not automatic; they require faith, obedience, prayer, generosity, gratitude, patience, righteousness, and trust. These principles position us to receive what God has already prepared for us.
Let us remember that God desires to bless His children, but we must align ourselves with His Word and His will. As we apply these principles in our lives, we can expect to see His blessings manifest in ways beyond what we could ask or imagine.
Closing Scripture:
"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." – Ephesians 3:20-21
Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word and for the principles You have given us to receive Your blessings. Help us to walk in faith, obedience, prayer, and righteousness. Teach us to trust in Your promises and to wait patiently for Your perfect timing. May our lives reflect Your glory as we receive and share the blessings You pour out on us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
